Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Tunis
Arrival at the airport, welcome by our team, and transfer to your hotel in Tunis. Overnight in Tunis.
Day 2 – Tunis – Thuburbo Majus – Testour – Dougga (UNESCO) – Tunis
Visit the archaeological site of Thuburbo Majus, followed by the Andalusian town of Testour. Lunch and guided visit of Dougga, one of the most impressive Roman sites in North Africa (UNESCO). Return to Tunis for overnight.
Day 3 – Tunis – Kairouan (UNESCO) – Tozeur
Explore Kairouan, the spiritual capital of Tunisia (UNESCO): Aghlabid Basins Mausoleum of Sidi Sahbi Great Mosque of Kairouan After lunch, drive to Tozeur and visit its traditional medina. Overnight in Tozeur.
Day 4 – Chebika – Tamerza – Ong Jemel (4×4) – Nefta – Tozeur
4×4 adventure to the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza. Visit Ong Jemel, famous Star Wars filming location. After lunch, visit Nefta and a traditional brick factory. Optional horse-drawn carriage ride through Tozeur’s oasis. Overnight in Tozeur.
Day 5 – Tozeur – Chott El Jerid – Douz – Sahara Camp
Cross the vast salt lake Chott El Jerid. Visit the lively Douz market and the Sahara Museum. Optional activities: camel ride or quad biking in the dunes. Dinner and overnight in a desert camp under the stars.
Day 6 – Douz – Matmata – El Djem (UNESCO) – Hammamet
Visit a troglodyte house in the Berber village of Matmata. After lunch, explore the Roman Amphitheatre of El Djem (UNESCO). Continue to Hammamet.
Day 7 – Hammamet – Tunis – Carthage (UNESCO) – Sidi Bou Said
Visit the Bardo Museum and the Medina of Tunis. Lunch in La Goulette. Afternoon visit to Carthage (UNESCO) and the blue-and-white village of Sidi Bou Said. Overnight in Tunis.
Day 8 – Departure
Transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule. End of services.
