A first stop in Hammamet for breakfast (not included), then on to El Djem, where you visit one of the most impressive Roman amphitheatres in the world, the third largest after those of Rome and Capua. Continue to Matmata, famous for its troglodyte dwellings dug into the rock and still inhabited by Berber families. Visit a typical troglodyte house to discover this ancestral way of life, as well as the legendary Hotel Sidi Idriss, a Star Wars filming location, where a typical lunch is served. In the early afternoon drive to Douz, nicknamed the gateway to the desert, and settle into a Saharan camp in the golden dunes. Admire a magical sunset on the sand and try a camel ride (optional). The evening continues with a Bedouin dinner under the stars, with traditional music and a demonstration of bread baked in the sand, followed by an unforgettable night in a tent in the silence of the desert. Day 2: Douz, Chott el Djerid, Chebika, Kairouan, return Wake up at sunrise and have breakfast at the camp before driving to the Chott el Djerid, the largest salt lake in Tunisia, fascinating with its mirages and changing reflections. Continue to the Atlas mountains to discover the Chebika oasis, a natural gem. A walk of about an hour leads to a waterfall nestled among palm trees, a striking contrast between desert and greenery. Have lunch in a local restaurant, then drive to Kairouan, the fourth holy city of Islam. Discover the Great Mosque of Okba Ibn Nafaa, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture, on an outside panoramic visit, and the authentic lanes of its medina. Finally return to your starting city: Tunis, Hammamet or Sousse, with arrival at your hotel around 6:00 pm.
